About Playful Paws Dog Walks

Janet Ditte & Tilly

Tilly is the reason I started Playful Paws Dog Walks!  I took voluntary redundancy from my previous "work life"  7 years ago, having been an accountant working in senior finance roles for over 20 years.  Deciding to spend some time away from full time work and more time with my family, we welcomed Tilly into our lives.  Both my husband and I had dogs whilst growing up and had long wanted one for our own family.  She joined Purdey Cat, who came to us from a cat rescue centre back in 2013 (I got my first rescue cat, Mildred, some 35 plus years ago).

Playful Paws Dog Walks was born when I realised I didn't want to head back into an office and wanted to keep doing what I love, walking Tilly.  I decided I could combine this with walking other dogs and sharing with them the great walks we have come to love. And so, Tilly and I embarked on this new adventure back in 2019.  Tills is now a bit greyer than she was.  A very typical lab, she continues to happily welcome new members into the Playful Paws gang & onto our walks.

I know what is important to me as a dog and pet owner and I wanted to bring these values to Playful Paws Dog Walks.  I aim to provide a friendly, flexible and personal service, built on a love of dogs, cats and pets and many years of experience as a pet owner myself.  I only provide small group or solo walks as it is really important to me that your dog(s) receives the attention they deserve.  Having had a very full time job for many years, I know what it is like trying to juggle work with a busy home life - I hope that I can help take some of strain by providing a reliable and professional service.  For your peace of mind I am fully insured, dog first aid trained, DBS (criminal records) checked and have a Professional Dog Walker Certificate.  I am Wiltshire Council Dog Walker Scheme Approved and was the first dog walker to be approved through the scheme in Wiltshire. I have taken and will continue to take dog behaviour and other courses to help me to continue to provide the best care for your best friends.
